Our vision

Financial literacy shouldn't depend on your zip code.

SOE started with a simple observation: most American high schoolers graduate without ever being taught how taxes, credit, investing, or budgeting actually work. We're changing that, student by student, town by town.

Why we exist

Only a handful of states require a personal finance course to graduate. Even where it's required, it's often a single semester tacked onto a schedule already crowded with test prep. Meanwhile the decisions these students will face, first paycheck, first credit card, first loan, arrive with no warm-up.

SOE fills that gap with a student-run model: motivated students partner with a teacher to launch a local chapter, what we call a town, and run structured sessions using the SOE curriculum. It's peer-led, teacher-supported, and nationally coordinated.
